3 weeks in Bali

As it has now become my habit, it is time fly away in Asia for december. After a very busy year at work and the follow-up of the progress of my appartment, I had no time to really get organized for the trip, therefore it is going to be a lot of improvisation. After a good flight with Singapore Airlines, I landed in Denpasar where Oliver was picking me up to drive me to Amed. I was spending 4 days over there mainly for diving the Tulamben Wreck. It was also allowing me to acclimatize and rest well. Being in low season and there was hardly anyone around which meant great private diving basically. The last night I meet an Australian girl on her way back downunder from Europe, we spent part of the evening together and agreed to catch up a few days later on Gili Air which was one of my next stop anyway.

The following day, I left for Permuteran to spend 3 days next to the marin park, with 2 days of diving. The dive wasn't bad but not extraordinary either... apart from the pigmey seahorse. I then headed towards Gili Air island where for once I was plaining on chillaxing on the beach with a few cocktails. After an intense year, this was exactly what I needed to recharge my battery. The day of my departure, the horse that was meant to pick me up failed to show up and I missed my boat... But to be honest there are worst place than Pura Vida on the beach to stuck for another day.

The next day after a great party from the previous night, I manage to take my boat to Nusa Lembongan where I was hoping to go diving with the mantas. Unfortunately the sea conditions were to rought to dive that site which was the attraction of the area. So I decide to give up on diving since my reg had been poorly looked after by the dive shop in Permuteran. Also the rough condition were meant to last a few more days, so I decided to spend three days in Ubud instead. Over there the goal was to relax and enjoy, massage, monkey mountain and a bit of sightseeing. I must say that despite the fact that it was quite touristy, there is a good vibe in the small mountain town. For my last night, I was getting closer to the airport to spend Christmas Eve on the beach in Seminyak. I started with a small beer on the beach before coming back along the beach, stopping here and there in bar where good live bands were playing. Finally it was time to return to the cold weather, hoping secretly that the snow would show up soon for the ski season.
